SAINT-THOMAS, NB, May 29, 2024 /CNW/ – Harnois Énergies (HÉ) and Michaud Petroleum announce that they have entered into an agreement which will lead to the creation of a new corporate entity. This aims to continue the development of their common market and now links the activities of the two New Brunswick companies (NB).

The new company will form an entity of approximately 100 employees and will operate mainly in the distribution of fuels, lubricants and special products. It will also be responsible for managing the operations of three service stations and six oil depots.

This transaction will solidify the common position of Michaud Petroleum and HÉ in energy distribution in New Brunswick. The creation of the new entity will make it possible to offer customers, among other things, complementary territories served, better efficiency, a more complete offering of products and services thanks to the range of products distributed by the two companies.

The transaction requires prior approval from the Competition Bureau of Canada and was submitted on May 10. The file analysis process can take a few weeks. Until then, each entity will continue its operations separately.
