THE severe weather do not seem to want to leave the territory: Orne is once again placed on yellow thunderstorm alert this Thursday, May 30, 2024. According to Météo France forecasts, Thundershowers are expected between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. over a large part of the department, from Argentan to Nogent-le-Rotrou.

In addition to rain, vigilance is also required for the wind. Gusts up to 65 km/h can be recorded by location. The weather should get milder in the early evening. Temperatures will be included between 14°C for the minimums and 16°C for the maximums.

Another alert had already been issued for Orne a week ago, Thursday May 23. Heavy rainfall had affected Thury-Harcourt-le-Hom due to a stationary storm positioned several hours above Normandy Switzerland. Fortunately, little damage was reported.

Which was not the case for Montilly-sur-Noireau affected by a violent storm a few days earlier. Some residents saw their basements devastated by mudslides.
