Anne Ius, president of Tarn-et-Garonne tourism, recently brought together winegrowers, tourism professionals, elected officials and intercommunity leaders at the departmental council, in order to work together on a project to expand the wine tourism destination in connection with the “Vignobles & Découvertes” label.

In 2025, Tarn-et-Garonne tourism will have to develop a new application file with the objective of promoting five vineyards. This concerns the AOC Coteaux du Quercy, Saint-Sardos, Brulhois, as well as the IGP Lavilledieu and Coteaux et Terrasses de Comté Tolosan.

As a reminder, the “Vignobles & Découvertes” label is awarded for a period of 3 years by Atout , following recommendation from the Superior Council of Wine Tourism. Thus, this new destination with a tourist and wine vocation will offer a range of multiple and complementary tourist products with which winegrowers, accommodation providers, restaurateurs, museums, activities, etc. are associated. This will make it possible to make more visible appellations previously absent from the Vignobles and Wineries repository. Discoveries, both regionally, nationally and internationally.

In order to successfully network stakeholders around this issue of development and structuring of the new wine tourism destination, this application will benefit from development training support, via Adefpat provided by France Gerbal-Medalle. As a specialist in wine tourism, the latter introduced the subject, before giving the floor to various speakers, including Isabelle Cardouat, in charge of wine tourism at the Gers Departmental Tourism Committee.

“We are convinced that wine tourism is an integral part of the assets of our destination and that it can contribute to increasing the flow of potential customers. Based on the discussions we had this morning, the remarks, ideas, desires of our partners, we can begin writing a new roadmap in favor of wine tourism in Tarn-et-Garonne”, underlines Anne Ius.
