Located rue de l’Arboretum in Juvigny-sous-Andainedelegated municipality of Juvigny-Val-d'Andaine (Orne), near the stadium and the cemetery, the MAS La Chaumière of the Anais association was active from 1995 to 2019, before being transferred to La Ferté- Macé.

Leaving behind a 2,000 m building2 on land of approximately 1 hectare, looking for a buyer.

An ideal site

In recent years, elected officials of the Cdc Andaine-Pasais were closely interested in this site, which could solve several problems that the community was facing.

A subject that was discussed during a community council in October 2022.

“The current administrative premises of the headquarters of the Community of Communes in Juvigny are not functional with the different floors” the president then argued Sylvain Jarry.

“This site could accommodate them, as well as collective reception of minors and micro-crèche from Juvigny who are refueling, or even the library » he then added.

Since then, the idea has gained ground and the project has gradually become structured.

“In June 2023, we acquired the premises for around €500,000,” recalls the president. This site is ideal because it is on one level and meets PMR* standards, with parking spaces.

Transforming an accommodation building to accommodate administrative services, the leisure center, the Au Pays des Galopins associative micro-crèche and the media library is not easy.

Project management was entrusted to the Alidade firm in Tinchebray-Bocage.

“We are starting with €1 million worth of work”

Since the purchase, “we started by making an inventory and carrying out pruning work. The first objective is also to review the enclosed and covered areas, and the networks” explains President Jarry.

At the same time, the firm carried out studies to establish plans and the distribution of the different services, depending in particular on the audiences welcomed.

“Currently, we are working on thermal studies to define what type of heating to choose. We will have to review the frames and arrange the different spaces. Overall, we are starting with around €1 million worth of work,” estimates Sylvain Jarry.

The project in question should extend over 2025-2026. “Our priority is to be able to install the collective reception of minors, which currently takes place in the school, with premises which are not sufficient.”

However, in a difficult economic context, and in order not to jeopardize the budget of his community, President Jarry wishes to be prudent and move forward step by step in this project depending on the aid he can obtain.

“For the moment, the State has granted us €350,000 from DETR*, then we can hope for aid from ADEME*, CAF* for the leisure center, DRAC* and the Departmental Council of Orne for the media library” concludes Sylvain Jarry.

*MAS: Specialized reception center; PMR: Person with reduced mobility; DETR: Equipment provision for rural areas; ADEME: Agency for the Environment and Energy Management; CAF: Family allowance fund; DRAC: Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs.
