SENEGAL-TRAINING-INFRASTRUCTURE / Mbacké: laying the first stone of the departmental vocational training center – Senegalese press agency

Mbacké, May 27 (APS) – The Minister of Vocational Training, Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarré, and the German Ambassador to Senegal, Sönke Siemon, laid the first stone of the Departmental Training Center on Monday professional (CDFP) of Mbacké (center), at a cost of 1.7 billion CFA francs.

”’This ceremony is an important step in the process of structural transformation of our economy through the empowerment of our young people, the present and the future of our dear country. The Mbacké CDFP for which we have just laid the first stone is estimated at a cost of 1 billion 700 million CFA francs,” he said.

The minister was speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of the building which is to be built behind the El hadji Ibrahima Guèye municipal stadium in Mbacké.

The prefect of the prefect of Mbacké, Khadim Hann, the mayor of the city, Gallo Ba, as well as several technical and financial partners involved in this project including this Head of the delegation of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) , Dr. Bernhard Braune, took part in the ceremony.

Amadou Moustapha Ndieck Sarré estimated the capacity of this center at 700 learners, indicating that it will initially have four sectors: wood carpentry, auto mechanics, cold air conditioning and electricity.

He also insisted on the alignment of the CDFP with his department’s digital transformation strategy to promote the use of digital technology and innovation in order to improve the quality of professional training for future learners.

The minister thanked the BMZ delegation and the German State for the promotion and employment project (PFPE) which was launched the same day in Mbacké and made available to Senegal, to support it in access and the quality of professional training and the integration of young people and women.

The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Senegal, Sönke Siemon, welcomed the laying of the first stone of the CDFP of Mbacké which will be a modern, spacious learning center equipped with quality equipment adapted to the need of the labor market.

“It will offer learners and their teachers a pleasant environment conducive to the four initial pathways,” he added, promising Germany’s support for vocational training in Senegal.

The diplomat announced that seven other professional training centers will be financed in the regions of Diourbel, Kolda and Ziguinchor by German cooperation via the KFW.

“In total, Germany will invest 35 million euros or around 22.10 billion CFA francs in professional centers and their equipment in the coming years,” assured Sönke Siemon

“The construction of this center, awaited for more than 10 years, comes at the right time because it responds in many respects to a very strong concern of our population, especially in its young segment”, underlined for his part the mayor of the city, Gallo Ba.

According to him, this center will undoubtedly contribute to further ensuring the promotion, qualification, employability and integration of young people, thus allowing a better match between the training offer and the real needs of the job market. .
