Luzenac on the roof of Ariège

What a season for Luzenaciens! With the two titles of teams II and II and the rise of the U 16 (PAF) in the regional elite, the Regional 1 team did not tremble and took first place in group B which allows it to still believe to accession to National 3.

On a beautiful afternoon and on a superb pitch, the Luzenaciens were present for this last match which absolutely had to be won to consolidate their first place. We sense a little stress for Johan Rini’s protégés who, from the first minutes, launch an attack on the opposing goal. It is Lopez, on his left side, following a back pass from Nsibi, who unleashes a 25 m missile which lodges in Muratet’s top corner and frees partners and supporters (1-0, 6th). Luzenac then continued his domination against a team which held on without giving up. After unsuccessful attempts by Lourenco and Chinchilla, Cestari doubled the lead after receiving a perfect cross from Salvy (2-0, 28th). The game balanced a little and, just before half-time, the locals conceded two hot scares from Lafforgue and Galante who saw their shots come close to Galisson’s goals. The Luzenaciens do not doubt for long. Just before returning to the locker room, Chinchilla recovers a ball in the area and adjusts the Haut-Garonnais goalkeeper (3-0, 44th).

Cestari still imperial

At the restart, Berete, warned of a yellow card during the first act, leaves as a precaution, which modifies the defensive organization of the Ariégeois. The visitors take advantage and Galante gives hope to the visitors (3-1, 48th). A goal that wakes up the locals. It is again their captain Chinchilla who, with a beautiful tight shot, relieves his team (4-1, 54th). In the process, Cestari is hooked in the area, Lourenco converts the penalty (5-1, 61st). This time, the match is well in hand for President Rodriguez’s protégés. The end of the match saw the two teams playing at a less sustained pace and offering great phases of play to the public who were already enjoying the victory. It is Cestari, the essential local scorer, who concludes this great success with a nice goal at the conclusion of a superb offensive movement (6-1, 88th).

Contract fulfilled for Luzenac who takes first place in the group by displaying an exceptional performance which has given heart to this Paul-Fédou stadium, very often home of the most beautiful moments of Ariège football. It now remains to put “the icing on this beautiful cake” next week during the match for the promotion to National 3, which we know for the moment will take place on neutral ground against Aigues Mortes, first in Pool A. .
