This is the event that some in the Indre department have been waiting for for a year: the passing of the Olympic flame through nine municipalities this Monday, May 27. From Issoudun, to La Châtre, via Châteauroux, discover the program of activities for this extraordinary day.

Entertainment in Valencay

  • 10 a.m.: parade along the Olympic flame route with schools, local associations and the choir
  • 10:30 a.m.: under the Wheat Market, table tennis and boccia, Paralympic ball sport
  • 11 a.m.: in the castle park, sports and fun activities for schools
  • 4 p.m.: on the Place de la Halle au Blé, hunting horns
  • 4:40 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.: passing of the Olympic flame
  • 7:30 p.m.: concert by “Suffolks” musicians with food stalls on the Place de la Halle au Blé

Flashmob in Déols

The city of Déols invited the 350 schoolchildren of the town to witness the burning of the flame in the cloister of Déols Abbey, before leaving for the Châteauroux sports plain. They will also dance the choreography of the flashmob in which around a hundred amateur dancers participate simultaneously at 5:55 p.m. sharp at Square Jean Jaurès to the song “En feu” by Soprano.

Firefighters abseiling at the White Tower of Issoudun

Around a hundred volunteers are mobilized to hold the 27 activities offered by the town’s sports associations on the Olympic flame route in Issoudun. Issoldunois will be able to enjoy initiations and demonstrations of hockey, skateboarding, break dancing, kayaking, archery, fencing, horse riding, gymnastics, etc. The GRIMP 36 firefighters and the climbing club are also planning an abseiling of the White Tower. 24 events and drone shows in Châteauroux

The town of Châteauroux organizes events in various places in the town from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For example, we can attend a giant bubble show rue Petite-du-Rochat, dance shows in the Saint-Jean district and at the public garden on avenue Marcel-Lemoine, as well as a balloon release at the Bombardon roundabout. As in Issoudun, the Castelroussins will be able to learn about different sports such as sports shooting and watch demonstrations of football and teqball, a ball sport played on an arched table tennis table.

The departmental Sports Plain, where the Olympic flame arrives in Indre, will also host a whole series of activities from 3:30 p.m. To end the day, a drone show involving 200 devices will be offered from 10:30 p.m.

Releasing balloons in La Châtre

  • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Place Maurice Tissandier, makeup workshop
  • 10:30 a.m.: Place du Champ de Foire, hip-hop dance show by the Maurice Rollinat school and collective songs and chants by the Delacroix and Rollinat schools
  • 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Place de la République, sports demonstrations
  • 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Place Laisnel de la Salle, musical entertainment by Les Sonneurs de la Vallée Noire
  • 11 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: avenue Aristide Briand, coordination game with hoops by students from George Sand college
  • 11:30 a.m.: Jean-Louis Boncoeur roundabout, balloon release by all schools
  • all morning: rue Maurice Sand, prevention and awareness actions aimed at consumers by the Familles Rurales 36 association
  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.: market square, balloon release, flash mob, orchestra

At Le Blanc, discovery of sporting disciplines

Several activities will be offered on the Ménigouttes site from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: sports and aquatic activities, as well as Olympics organized by high school students for 3rd year middle school students. On the sports square, from 10:15 a.m. to 5 p.m., thirteen disciplines will be offered, as well as a flash mob accompanied by the local radio station, Radio Dynamo. A philatelic exhibition and a hike are also on the program.

Paddle, canoe and sailing in Baraize and Cuzion

You can discover the brand new Himalayan footbridge which spans the Creuse, between Baraize and Cuzion. The Olympic flame must also take it. Water activities will be offered from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: paddle, canoeing, and water skiing.

Freestyle football demonstration in Buzançais

Indian Emmy Calmel, who participates in the freestyle football world championship in August, will offer a demonstration in Buzançais, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., during the children’s picnic, just before the passing of the flame. This will take place on Place de Gaulle.

To accompany the passing of the flame, a “dress code” was given to Buzançais for the public: wear white and green. In addition, more than 1,000 children and 500 middle school students will wear t-shirts in the Olympic colors.
