If you walk around Grenoble, near the Caserne de Bonne, you might come across this pop-up store, pop-up store, of the Red Cross. It opened its doors this Saturday, May 25 and is scheduled to run until June 1. An opening, on the occasion of the association’s 90th annual national quest.

Funds collected, donated to local branches

For one week, the funds collected will go to the operation of local branches, and that’s good, because the Isère branch needs these funds. Especially when we know that demand from people in precarious situations has increased by 20% over the past year, explains Gautier Sayetta, president of the Red Cross branch in Isère.

This operation is necessary because we are recovering the funds. A given euro is invested locally. We need it every day, to buy basic necessities“, he explains. There is an increase in demand among the most precarious people, and that worries him. “Since the health crisis, we have noticed that there are more and more people who need us, 20% more in the last year. These are people who can have a family, a home, a job. but due to inflation, they are in difficulty” he concludes.

The store is open until Saturday June 1st.
