The Dakar daily newspapers, this Saturday, for the most part highlighted the remarks of the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Ousmane Diagne, relating in particular to the reports of the control bodies.

According to him ”the purpose of a report since its authors recommend prosecutions, can only be prosecutions which will be initiated and entrusted to independent, experienced magistrates, called upon to decide on the follow-up to be given and possibly the penalties to be imposed. distribute”.

”The Minister of Justice announces prosecutions,” writes the inside page of the daily Le Quotidien. ”The Keeper of the Seals inflexible on prosecutions,” adds Vox Pop on its front page. And the newspaper added, quoting Mr. Diagne, that “there is no settling of scores, we just have to answer for our actions.”

Vox Pop also highlights the seizure by customs in Kompentoum, in the Tambacounda region (east) of 264 kilograms of cocaine estimated at 21 billion CFA francs.

Referring to the traffickers’ modus operandi, the newspaper writes: ”the 228 tablets of white powder were hidden in the false tank of the foreign-registered refrigerated truck. Two people, including a national from a country in the sub-region and another from a North African country, arrested.

On the same subject, Le Quotidien recalls that ”nearly 1.5 tonnes [de drogue dure] in a month”.

The newspaper also mentions the appeal launched by the Senegalese bishops for “a reduction in consumer prices”, on the occasion of the second pastoral session from May 20 to 24 at the Charity Home of Cap des Biches.

The AS, for its part, announces on its front page that “Amadou Ba will leave the APR”, the former ruling party.

The publication quotes the former advisor to the Prime Minister, unsuccessful candidate in the last presidential election, in these terms: ”Amadou Ba will remain in the opposition. AND he will assume this posture. He will leave Allinace for the Republic and the Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition.

In sport, the daily newspapers reaching the APS almost all spoke of the list of 26 players of the national coach Aliou Cissé, who will face the DRC on June 6 and Mauritania on June 9, on behalf of the 3e and 4e days of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will take place in three countries: Canada, the United States and Mexico.

The matches of the Senegal team will be played at the Abdoulaye Wade stadium in Diamniadio, with the selection of the blue of the ”den”, Cherif Ndiaye, 28-year-old striker of the Red Star of Belgrade and ”author of 20 goals and 5 assists” this season, writes Source A.
