Raid Aventure: The partner department, its agents on the ground

The Adventure Raid is a sporting event organized by the town of Epernay in partnership with several associations including the Marne Departmental Council since this year.

This edition allowed several Specialized Prevention agents to demonstrate the skills of their service.

What is the Raid?

It is a two-day sporting competition which includes several disciplines (mountain biking, running, orienteering, canoeing, rifle shooting, climbing, etc.).
Each team must be made up of 3 young people and 1 adult who all participate in the activities. The objective is to complete all the tests and collect as many points as possible for the final result.
This sporting event takes place every year during the April holidays. The start is given in the Epernay Town Hall park with an arrival at the municipal campsite.
The activities take place roaming over more than thirty kilometers with stops in different municipalities (AY, Avenay Val d’Or, Mutigny etc…).

New, the Department as a partner of the event

The Department has chosen, in addition to registering teams, to contribute to the participation of this event by providing two agents. Thus, Amandine Saint-Léger and Soline Lopes, both specialist prevention educators, were tasked with the preparation to the end of the tests.

On April 24 and 25, 2024, two specialized prevention teams were at the start of the events.
A team competed for 11 to 13 year olds, from rural areas (Communauté de Commune de la Grande Vallée de la Marne) accompanied by Anis Gharbi, rural referent.
They obtained second place, a result which earned them places to access an event at the Paris Olympic Games.
Juliette Wojtowicz, educator in the Europe Chemin Vert sector, was able to support a mixed team (1 girl and 2 boys) among 14-17 year olds.

The sporting and friendly spirit of the Adventure Raid is in perfect harmony with the social work missions carried out by the Department’s agents, it tends to develop self-improvementTHE taste for effort or team spirit. Thus, each participant signed a charter at the time of registration.
