Disappearance of Océane, 16 years old, in Tarn-et-Garonne: what the worrying call for witnesses contains

It’s been a week since Océane’s relatives have no further news. On May 17, this 16-year-old teenager disappeared in Tarn-et-Garonne. That day, she left her home to go to her school, the Valence-d’Agen high school. But she never arrived or returned home to Lamagistère. His parents weren’t immediately worried.

They thought she was at her boyfriend’s house but that wasn’t the case, according to The Dispatch. Not seeing her return, her family contacted the police to report her disappearance on May 20. That’s why the call for witnesses was not immediately broadcast. We had to wait until May 22 for it to be published on social networks to try to find Océane.

She wore “a black dress with checks and yellow and red stripes”

“The Valence gendarmerie is looking for witnesses who could provide information allowing the location of Océane, who has been missing since Friday May 17”, we can read. On this one, we learn that Océane is between 1m50 and 1m60 tall, and has long brown hair. On the day of her disappearance, the 16-year-old young woman “was dressed in a black dress with checks and yellow and red stripes”. According to our colleagues at La Dépêche, investigators are trying to understand what could have happened.

For the moment, they are leaning more towards the thesis of a voluntary departure. “The investigation is oriented more towards a runaway after a family disagreement, even if the teenager, educated at the Jean-Rostand college in Valence-d’Agen, was not accustomed to this fact”, can we read in the local newspaper. After Océane’s disappearance, An investigation has been opened by the Montauban public prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the gendarmes of Valence-d’Agen.

A number to help investigators

On social networks, many people are surprised by the slowness of the publication of the call for witnesses, as reported France 3. However, it is quite common in this type of situation. “If your child is missing and you are unable to contact them, you should first search for them through their friends, neighbors and family members”asks the official website of the French administration.

Before notifying the police, the administration asks several things. “You must also look for him in the places he usually frequents, contact his school”, she continued. People who have information allowing young Océane to be found are invited to contact the gendarmes of the community of brigades of Valence-d’Agen on 05 63 29 60 50.
