The detailed development plan for the new “Les Taconnets” district in Givisiez was put under investigation this Friday. This includes a residential area and offices, the long-awaited future Orientation Cycle, but above all the possibility of building a tower. Without further details, because the architectural competition will be held in 2025, the TPF, whose real estate part oversees the project, announce that it could reach 96 meters.

Orientation cycle delayed by a year due to parking

If the morphology, exact size or dimensions are specified, it could become the tallest construction in the canton of Fribourg. Higher than the cathedral and its 74 meters, than the future Invictus tower and its announced 60 meters or even than the NH hotel (57 meters), it will be part of this new district which “will give pride of place to housing, activities tertiary sectors and quality outdoor spaces,” explains TPF Immo in its press release.

Another big piece: CO

The other big announcement of this PAD is the realization of the Givisiez Orientation Cycle which was presented and will be an integral part of the new “Les Taconnets” district, located between the route des Taconnets, rue de Belfaux and the new train station. Givisiez. It will include 36 classrooms and should attract 800 students by 2030. Its construction is currently estimated at 93 million francs.

If the process continues, the first school year at the CO of Givisiez could take place in 2028. For the rest of the project, we will have to wait until 2030 to 2035.
