The Association Rail tourism in Brie Champagne (TFBCO) of Montmirail offers every Sunday, from June 2 to October 6a railway ride on board his Picasso railcar of the 50s in the heart of the Champagne Briee. The walk, lasting 1h30, is commented and is presented in the form of a round trip of Montmirail (in the Marl) has Artonges (in L’Aisne). The distance traveled is twice 8.725 km.

On the way back from Artonges, a 15-minute stop is planned halfway at the Villemoyenne stop to allow a visit to the barrier guard house.

Two departures on Sunday

Two trips are organized every Sunday:

– A train on Sunday morning departing from Montmirail station at 10:30 a.m.

– A train on Sunday afternoon departing from Montmirail station at 2:30 p.m.

In addition to the railway ride, travelers have the opportunity to visit the railway museum located in Montmirail station. This is distributed in the two waiting rooms 1st and 2nd class, 3rd class and in the water tower. The visit to the museum can be done before or after the Picasso ride.

Privatization of the Picasso

From Saturday June 1 to Saturday October 5, TFBCO offers the possibility of privatizing the entire railcar on Saturday for any type of event (group outing, event to celebrate, company outing, etc.) The number of places available is 52 seats. The train departure time for the rail ride is at the customer’s discretion.

In addition to the rail ride aboard its railcar, TFBCO provides a guided tour of the railway museum at Montmirail station before or after the trip. In addition, the goods hall can be made available to the customer to eat there (cold buffet ordered from a caterer for example).

Visit the museum every day

Every day from Saturday June 1st until Sunday June 6th, by reservation only (03 26 81 35 17 or at 07 88 85 38 30 or by email [email protected]), TFBCO offers to visit the railway museum, free of charge.

Picasso railcars

Remember, for younger generations, that the Picasso railcars, belonging to the X 3800 series, were thus nicknamed because of their lateral driving kiosk, positioned on the roof, which evoked certain paintings by the great painter sometimes presenting faces offset from the body. These railcars were delivered between 1950 and 1961.
