Sauces & Créations opens a second factory in the North

The first Sauces & Créations factory, created in 2008 in Ralliencourt, is literally saturated. This subsidiary of the Breton Solina group, which creates and produces savory sauces, is preparing to open a second one in the North. It has just acquired 3.7 hectares of land in Iwuy, a town located about fifteen kilometers from Ralliencourt. “We have a growth rate of more than 25% per year,” says Daniel Dessaint, the president. “We needed to grow quickly to continue to meet the demands of our customers.”

An investment of 30 million euros

The opening of this second factory, with a capacity of 15,000 tonnes per year, is planned for mid-2026. It will complement the production of the first factory, which stands at 10,000 tonnes per year. An investment of 30 million euros was necessary (20 million euros for the building and 10 million euros for the machines). That of Ralliencourt is also the subject of an investment, of 2 million euros, to increase production capacity a little.

16 production lines over 6,000 m²

“This is the seventh and final time that this factory has been expanded,” explains Daniel Dessaint. “We are reaching the end of what can be possible on this land.”

The new 6,000 m factory2 will have 16 production lines. “This site will be more modern and more automated. The tool will run faster and will reduce the arduousness of the tasks for employees,” adds the manager. To the current workforce of 120 people (plus 30 temporary workers), around a hundred new positions will be added, created in Iwuy. The company recorded in the 2023 financial year a turnover of 50 million euros, 15% of which is generated through export. Among its clients, there are restaurant chains, fast-food restaurants and manufacturers such as salad merchants.

A new recipe every two days

With a new recipe released every two days. Sauces & Créations runs at a breakneck pace. “A world without sauce is sad,” says Daniel Dessaint. Its catalog has more than 900 references and the company makes them from 600 different raw materials. “We are capable of making a Moroccan sauce as well as a Mexican sauce,” announces the manager. “Today, we are a reference for food manufacturers and fast food chains.” To do this, the tireless 74-year-old president has put in the resources: a chef, six R&D engineers, and six quality engineers work with customers to come up with the best recipes.

Daniel Dessaint is not his first success. Already in 2000, he imagined a round bowl for salads with sauce on the side. A real success. Seven years later, he sold his business to Daunat and created Sauces & Créations in 2008, which he sold in 2022 to Solina, while remaining at the head of the company.
