The Avranches Cycling Club ready for the start of the Tour de la Manche

The Tour de la Manche cycling takes place from Thursday May 23 to Sunday May 26, 2024. The Avranches Cycling Club is going there with ambition for its riders. Sports director Sébastien Ganné talks about his objectives.

How is the Tour de la Manche in which the club is participating, from Thursday May 23 to Sunday May 26?

The Vélo-club is ready to take on the Tour de la Manche this Thursday, May 23 in Marigny-le-Lozon. Killian Briand, Eliott Moisseron, Julien Mottay, Sacha Poulard, Romain Noël and Maxime Renault make up a united team which has already experienced some strong moments this season. We leave with a conquering spirit and the desire to show ourselves among the big teams. Maxime and Killian are our two leaders. They have the assets to achieve a top 20 in the general ranking. They will also look to slip into good breakaways and why not play for stage victories. Some days the route will take roads they know well.

What do you remember from your participation in the second round of the French national division 3 cup?

Sunday May 19, the Vélo-club team competed in the second round of the French national division 3 cup in Marne. The race featured a team time trial run over a distance of 38.5 km. The VCA did well by completing the course at an average of 47.5 km/h. The team was made up of the six riders entered this week in the Tour de la Manche. It finally ranked in tenth place out of twenty-five teams entered. This is a good performance for Avranchinese who have worked well on this type of event without having the specific qualities of real riders. The VCA is ranked fifth in the provisional general classification of the Coupe de France.
