On the occasion of the visit of the prefect Charles Giusti, accompanied by the sub-prefect and elected officials of the Basin, the Vincent workshops gave visitors a tour of their workshop specializing in the manufacturing and assembly of skips, cranes and lifting arms.

“HAS“With Francis, we’ve known each other for 20 years.” After entering the capital of the company Rouergue Carrosserie Industrielle (RCI) created by Francis Montbroussous – “who was born less than 3 kilometers from here” – in 2014, the group led by François Vincent completely bought the local company in 2020. “He had no successor but he wanted to perpetuate his business after his departure. That’s how we ended up in Aveyron”explains the representative of the Drôme company.

The fifty employees on the Almont-les-Junies site manufacture and install skips on trucks. “We can install 1,200 3.5-tonne skips and 2,500 16-tonne skips per year. From here, we extend throughout the southwest. On large trucks, the group accounts for 20% of the national market. “ Another branch with around ten employees is also installed in Flagnac. “In Almont, we work with steel and in Flagnac with aluminum.” The family company, which owns around fifty sites in France and distributes products from handling specialists Sennebogen and Palfinger, is doing well, even if the current situation is not entirely favorable to it. “The situation is not simple. We are linked to the public works and construction sector. With the rise in rates, it’s complicated”believes François Vincent, “last of the fourth generation”.

Recruitment difficulties persist

“The big subject”well known to companies in the Decazeville Basin, remains recruitment. “The HR department is the one that has exploded the most. Today, you have to be beautiful, attractive… […] Hiring is a long cycle. You have to be patient. Across the entire group, there are more than a hundred jobs to be filled. This is an obstacle to the development of our activity. A few years ago, we hired people who we carried through to retirement. Now it’s rarer.”testifies François Vincent, who believes that it is a problem “national, even European”.

Problems that Francis Montbroussous already knew in 2012. “We cannot find any workers in France. For the moment, we have four Polish temporary workers. However, we offer positions that do not require any specific training. We are just looking for people who want to work”, he emphasized in our columns.
