You wanted to wait to know Evelyne Dhéliat’s predictions before taking your bib for the Bri’zeuse? Well, you were wrong!

After the 16 km and 23 km formats which have already been sold out for several days, it is the 10 km which reached its ceiling last night, set at 250 participants per race, “for a question of comfort, to avoid traffic jams”, according to Anthony Néhou, one of the linchpins of an event that unites no less than 130 volunteers.

Félix Lebeurier at the top of the poster
Last year, the Bri’zeuse was full of local names including Yoann Lecauchois, Yannick Noël and Thibaut Lécuru, the 5-star podium in the 30 km. For different reasons (injuries or unavailability), this trio will be absent this year and will leave the spotlight to Félix Lebeurier. Outgoing winner in the 42 km, the former winner of the Diabolik de Ragnar will line up “for the 35 km or the 50 km” according to the organizers. Among the other contenders for the first places, we can notably cite Ludovic Bonamy, Alexandre Lebas, Nicolas Rondeau, Fabrice Lepraël or Maxime Férey in the 50 km, but also Eric and Hervé Mabire, Ludovic Fourtanier, Tony Cauvin, Hervé Lefèvre or Nicolas Toquet in the the 35 km, without forgetting Maxime Bucher and Ronan Le Pottier who will defend their title in the 23 km and 16 km. On the women’s side, Elodie Néel will be the big favorite in the 35 km.

Still a handful of bibs on the 35

At the time you read these lines, it is also possible that registrations for the 35 km will be closed since there were only 15 precious tickets left. Tuesday May 21, 2024, at aperitif time…

In short, unless you decide to set off on the 50 km, the only format where there remains approximately 100 places to take, it’s the afternoon hikes that you will have to fall back on if you absolutely want to join the party. Especially since, according to Evelyne Dhéliat, the sun also seems determined to take a bib.

Every year, we have people who show up on the big day to register at the last minute. We prefer to warn them that there is no point in them coming this year, they will be in trouble. We will be forced to refuse them.

Anthony Néhou, one of the organizers

Anthony Néhou is waiting to see how this edition unfolds to perhaps consider increasing the gauge in the future.

In the meantime, with a accomplice weather, neat courses “with very little bitumen”, well-stocked pelotons and refreshment stands ready to draw 750 liters of beers (25 barrels), 450 kilos of fries, 200 kilos of sausages and 80 kilos of pork ribsthis 8th edition promises to be brilliant!
