Ousmane Sonko wants to reduce state spending in Senegal

During the council of ministers this Wednesday, the Prime Minister returned to certain aspects of the government’s priorities. Ousmane Sonko cannot understand why certain State administrative services are rented while State real estate is sold to private individuals. Thus, to reduce state expenditure, he ordered the recovery of land and building assets transferred to private individuals.

The head of government “gave the ministers concerned guidelines with a view to reducing the State’s lifestyle, including the steps to be taken for the recovery of its land and building assets transferred to private individuals in irregular conditions, while administrative services resort to rental,” we can read in the press release from the Council of Ministers.

Ousmane Sonko therefore did not fail to invite his ministers to pay particular attention to social housing construction programs refocused on the Government’s new directions. He also asked them to devote special treatment to loans
DMC (Credit Implementation Device). Anything that will allow the financing of numerous projects and programs contributing to the economic and social development of the country.
