Some criminals do not always show great judgment: this is the case of these four suspects who stole a package of sushi and who went so far as to threaten a grocery store clerk who tried to intervene with a knife. to prevent them from escaping.

Rather than paying for this food, which would have cost them $20 at most, the four people aged in their twenties will have to answer for their actions in court.

The acts with which they are accused occurred Tuesday evening around 8 p.m., in a Métro supermarket in Joliette.

The suspects then allegedly grabbed a package of delicious sushi and decided to leave without paying.

An employee who noticed the crime tried to arrest the thieves. One of them would have exhibited a knife at this time, before fleeing with his accomplices.

No one was injured during the events.

Sûreté du Québec police officers quickly located the suspects’ vehicle on Route 158.

The four individuals who were on board were therefore arrested for armed robbery.

A 22-year-old woman from Mascouche and a 27-year-old man from Saint-Liguori spent the night in cells and appeared Wednesday at the courthouse on a charge of robbery.

The other two suspects, a 26-year-old man from Rawdon and a 21-year-old woman from Crabtree, were released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
