The Internet and the mobile telephone network, of which nearly 6,000 customers of the various operators are deprived, should be restored immediately.

An accidental digger blow and a cut cable. It was Tuesday, early in the afternoon, on a construction site along the road linking Terres-de-Haute-Charente to Suaux. The optical fiber has been completely cut. And 6,000 customers were immediately disconnected.

The incident, on the Orange network, impacts all operators and concerns the landline and mobile telephone network. No more telephone and no more internet, in a vast area of ​​Charente Limousine, delimited by the municipalities of Brigueuil, Chabanais, Lesterps, Confolens, Terres-de-Haute-Charente and Montemboeuf.

Orange technicians intervened at 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. They worked all night, in bad weather, to re-weld, one by one, the thousands of cut fibers.

Orange hopes to restore fiber this Wednesday evening, but the operation is also dependent on weather conditions in the area.
