CCI du Tarn: “unprecedented” investments in training

Like these restaurants, forced to close for several days due to lack of staff, we can no longer count the sectors facing serious recruitment difficulties in Tarn.

The Chamber of Commerce is trying to respond to the problem, on its scale, by focusing on training. The idea being to respond to the lack of reputation or attractiveness of the region, by training students on site, so that they establish themselves there as employees.

“We train between 900 and 1,000 work-study students each year on our sites in Albi, Castres and Mazamet and we will continue to increase the number in the coming years on our various campuses,” indicates Michel Bossi, president of the CCI du Tarn.

In fact, the consular chamber is multiplying projects. For example in Albi, where it is renovating the former France Télécom building in Cantepau. These premises, which should be inaugurated at the start of the next school year in September, will ultimately double the reception capacity of in & ma (formerly IPI), which currently has 235 students.

The CCI has great ambitions for this “Higher School of Performance”, which trains business executives up to Bac + 5 level. It has two other branches in Rouen and Châlons-en-Champagne, a national network which should soon expand.

In Castres, the CCI will start the construction of a new building in La Borde Basse to house its École supérieure du digital (ESN81) and its Purple campus, by September 2025. The latter, which has been gradually ramping up since 2017, now has 88 learners today. The ESN, which aims to meet the recruitment needs of digital professions, has 77 of them.

“This investment program of 12 million euros is unprecedented on our scale,” welcomes Michel Bossi, who recalls that the CCI is the 2nd training organization in France behind National Education.
Note that the CCI also has a training site in Mazamet, where there is an orthopedic-orthosis school in high demand.
