A 29-year-old man sentenced to five years in prison for a series of thefts in Corrèze, Haute-Vienne and Dordogne

This man will have been active for a year, between March 2023 and March 2024 in the departments of Corrèze, Haute-Vienne and Dordogne. A series of eleven thefts with break-ins at private homes. This 29-year-old Périgord, arrested last March, was sentenced this Tuesday to five years in prison by the Tulle court.

After his arrest by the Tulle search brigade on March 21 and following an investigation lasting several months, a search of his home, in Dordogne, made it possible to find around forty gold jewelry, watches and collector’s items stolen, in addition to equipment used to commit break-ins. Items reported stolen were returned to the injured owners. These thefts were committed in the municipalities of Tulle, Naves and Laguenne-sur-Avalouze (Corrèze)Saint-Yrieix-Sous-Aixe and Oradour-sur-Vayres (Haute-Vienne)Sainte-Eulalie-d’Ans, Mialet, Saint-Jory-de-Chalais and Saint-Pantaly-d’Excideuil (Dordogne).

Legal recidivism

Each time, this man, identified by witnesses, used the same modus operandi: a break-in into these houses after breaking a French window or window. He had already been convicted eight timesbetween 2014 and 2022, for acts of aggravated theft, drug trafficking and contempt.

The Tulle court, this Tuesday, sentenced him to five years in prison, demanded his continued detention and also banned him from staying in Corrèze for five years. His cell phone and his car, also identified and spotted by witnesses during several incidents, were confiscated.
