The Municipality dreams of an XXL school and sports center

Like almost all municipalities, Hautemorges has an urgent need for classes for the children of its villages. “The Canton has decided on the need for a new primary school which must be built on the Apples site,” explains municipal councilor François Delay.

But instead of sticking to the only college planned on the existing site, the Executive decided to question itself in a more global way by integrating the neighboring area in which the Municipality owns several plots for more than 20,000 m2 of surface area, where major events set up canteens, parking lots and bumper cars for decades.

And suffice to say that the result more than surprised the municipal councilors, who did not expect a synthetic football pitch, three tennis courts, a refreshment bar common to these two sports as well as an 800 m shopping center2 on two levels, including one for the Youth Center.

“A list for Santa”

To the east, on the part dedicated to schools, the reflection includes a triple gymnasium, the famous new college comprising eight classrooms, two clearance rooms and three special rooms, as well as administrative premises and for the UAPE , as well as an indoor swimming pool. “It’s a list for Santa Claus,” François Delay summed up in a joking manner, insisting more seriously on the fact that many steps remain to be taken before seeing the gifts under the tree, the first being to resolve the problem of allocations of the plots concerned.

The municipal official, who ended his presentation to spontaneous applause, however, emphasized that the guiding image presented was “a project of intention to allow coherent development of this sector”, without giving either a timetable or figures on the cost. necessarily XXL of this project which is just as much.
