the essential
Dogs, a passion for many amateurs or professionals. They all meet this weekend at the exhibition center for a major national competition.

The Territorial Canine Association of Lot-et-Garonne (ACT 47) is organizing its national dog show in Villeneuve-sur-Lot on Sunday May 26. A confirmation session for all breeds will take place on Saturday May 25. AC T 47 volunteers are mobilized for the organization of this national exhibition and do everything possible to offer a quality event taking into account the constructive observations made by exhibitors and spectators.

Meeting with Pierre Floiras, organizer and president of ACT 47: “The primary mission of ACT47, a decentralized body of the Société Centrale Canine, is the promotion and development of purebred dogs, we are the only organization dependent on the Ministry of Agriculture, authorized to manage dog breeds. In Villeneuve-sur-Lot, the 10 official dog breed groups are invited: shepherd dogs, guard dogs, terriers, dachshunds, Nordic dogs, hounds, guard dogs. stop, retrievers and game lifters, companion dogs and greyhounds. 342 breeds are currently recognized by the official dog breed. Hunting dogs will be in the spotlight in the bastide because if all breeds will be judged, the ACT 47 has succeeded. to obtain a very large number of “breed specials” counting for the various title approvals and quotations. 24 judges from all over France and abroad are planned to evaluate the dogs presented in relation to the morphological standards of each race.

“A goal of 1,000 dogs present”

And the president really wants to place the Villeneuvoise event in the French canine landscape. “Our objective of 1,000 dogs present is still relevant and the magnificent site of the exhibition center as well as the unfailing cooperation of the municipality of Villeneuve-sur-Lot allow us reasonable optimism.”

One of the specificities of the Villeneuvoise exhibition (2 in France operate in this way) lies in the organization of 2 “rings of honor”: one at 11:30 a.m. and the other at 4 p.m. “This is to allow visitors to attend 2 “shows” bringing together the best subjects.” These two highlights, taking place indoors, constitute the most popular events. If this organization requires a lot of flexibility and involvement of all stakeholders, it has been a choice of the ACT47 committee for 3 editions and the public appreciates it very much. The “young presenters” competition and numerous activities will also be organized in the ring of honor. Vigilance relating to Animal Welfare will be omnipresent throughout the day with the creation of a mobile team entirely dedicated to this cause.

No puppy bellies

“There will be no sale of puppies because one of the principles of ACT47 is to encourage contact and exchanges between breeders and potential buyers and not to endorse the easy “favourite” acquisition. in front of a puppy but too often difficult to cope with afterwards. Each breed has its specificities, it seems fundamental to us that the acquisition of a new member of the family takes place in the best conditions and after complete information by specialists. enthusiasts of the breed concerned.” Permanent dog shows, free children’s entertainment: inflatable games… Catering provided by the very famous “Ferme de Cauffour” of Carl Naïbo which operates the country producers’ markets in summer (dishes cooked from local production) and refreshment bar.
