Marrakech – The achievements accomplished at the level of the prefecture of Marrakech, within the framework of the various programs of the 3rd Phase of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), in particular those inherent to the health of mother and child , were highlighted on Monday, on the occasion of the celebration of the 19th anniversary of this Règne project.

During a ceremony organized in the presence of the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the Marrakech prefecture, Farid Chourak, members of the Provincial Human Development Committee (CPDH), heads of external services, elected officials and of civil society actors, emphasis was placed on the various achievements recorded at the level of the prefecture of Marrakech in particular, within the framework of program 4 relating to the boost of human capital of rising generations.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Chourak, explained that this 19th Anniversary of the INDH, organized this year under the theme “The first 1000 days of life, foundation of the future of our children”, allows us to shine the spotlight on the achievements of the Initiative during its third phase 2019-2023 and to address fundamental issues related to human development in Morocco.

And to add that the National Initiative for Human Development, during its third phase, characterized by the orientation of its programs towards investment in human capital, has devoted its actions to improving development indicators of early childhood and maternal health, and the promotion of access to preschool education in rural areas, adding that the efforts and interventions of the Initiative at the level of the Marrakech prefecture have contributed to the implementation implemented important projects, particularly in terms of improving access to health care, maternal and child nutrition, and monitoring of maternal, neonatal and child health.

Likewise, the wali highlighted the main achievements, including the equipment of health centers, the creation, rehabilitation and equipment of maternity wards, and the provision of equipped ambulances to ensure that deliveries take place. in a monitored health environment and to monitor births and the health status of mothers and newborns, as well as the establishment of a community health system oriented towards maternal and child health and the organization of campaigns awareness campaign mainly targeting pregnant women, breastfeeding women and infants.

Furthermore, Mr. Chourak called for greater efforts and perseverance in order to achieve the objectives set by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, indicating that on the sidelines of the commemoration of the 19th anniversary of the INDH, he will be launched a national communication campaign under the theme “The first 1000 days of life, foundation of the future of our children” starting May 22, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and of Social Protection.

For his part, the head of the Social Action Division at the prefecture of Marrakech, Anouar Tlemsani Dbira, underlined in a statement to MAP, that this meeting made it possible to present the results of the Initiative during the period 2019-2023, noting that the INDH, alongside its partners, plays a pioneering role in promoting the human capital of rising generations, particularly in the field of maternal and child health, through several interventions linked to infrastructure, awareness and community health.

On this occasion, Mr. Tlemsani presented a presentation on the achievements of the Program to Boost Human Capital for Rising Generations, with a focus on the axis relating to maternal and child health, indicating that the period 2019-2023 has saw the completion of 1,800 projects for a total cost of 527.4 million DH (MDH), including a contribution from the INDH of around 458.6 MDH.

Among these projects, 350 were carried out as part of the program to boost the human capital of rising generations, for a total investment of 264.5 MDH, including 260.6 MDH as a contribution from the INDH, he said. precise.

The official cited, in this sense, the projects inherent to the construction and equipment of the Ait Imour maternity ward and the rehabilitation and equipment of the Sidi Zouine, Loudaya and Qettara maternity wards in the commune of El Menabaha. , El Massira, Zerktouni and Sidi Youssef Ben Ali in the commune of Marrakech, in addition to the organization of a medical awareness campaign on maternal and child health, the number of beneficiaries of which reached 600 women.

The 19th anniversary of the INDH, launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in 2005, offers the opportunity to highlight the achievements and achievements of the Initiative during its third phase, and to address crucial issues related to human development in Morocco.
