The Marseille Cycling Union, with its 80 members, provides supervised cycling outings all year round. The association, chaired by Bernard Dressaire, participates in Marseillan sporting events such as the Telethon or the Tour Thau. With two to three outings of 60 to 100 km per week, these lovers of the little queen explore the backcountry roads.

This is how the UCM has just organized a stay in Aude from May 13 to 16, offering its 32 members present daily cycle rides as well as tourist visits around Carcassonne and Castelnaudary. Thanks to the knowledge of members living in Castelnaudary, these Marseille cycle tourists were able to benefit from superb routes for these four daily hikes! A total of 305 km will have been covered with just over 3,500 meters of elevation gain. A rich program of cultural visits was reserved for the spouses with visits, among others, to the caves of Limousis, the lake of Pradelles-Cabardès and the Cathar castles. A journey that could not end without discovering the culinary specialties of Aude, first and foremost the famous Castelnaudary cassoulet which delighted all the guests. An exceptional quality of welcome in Castelnaudary where the mayor Patrick Maugard went to meet them a few minutes before the passage of the Olympic flame! A great warm-up for the participants who are actively preparing for the next edition of the Tour Thau 2024 which will take place on June 2.
