Loïc Leroy, Environment Director of the Oise-Aisne Agreement.

Why organize such an event?
The Pays Noyonnais Community of Communes has transferred the responsibility for management of aquatic environments to us. This is why we wanted, on International Biodiversity Day, to organize an event in this area, free and open to all, in order to raise awareness of this issue among the general public. The idea is to bring together a large number of partners who can offer varied nature activities. I would also like to thank the municipality of Pont l’Evêque for welcoming us to a site which combines all the environmental and logistical advantages for such an event.
Can you explain to us in more detail what will be offered?
Stands will be present with games and continuous activities offered by the Entente and our partners: the Community of communes of the Noyonnais region, the commune of Noyon, the Oise hunting and fishing federations, the association of fishing of Noyon, the Conservatory of natural spaces, the CPIE of Pays de l’Oise, Picardie Nature, the Abeilles du Noyonnais, the Tourist Office of the Pays de Noyonnais, and Suez. The artist Victor Givois, in residence in Noyon, will also be there to discuss with the public around creations made with students from the Perrault school, the Pasteur college and the boarding school of success-Inovia on the theme of Verse valley.
Among other things, everyone will be able to learn about fishing, understand the water cycle, trade their plants, and meet the players involved in preserving the environment. On-site catering will also be provided by La Lune Dorée (salty and sweet pancakes).

I believe there will also be nature walks?
3 free general public walks are planned at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. which will last approximately 1.5 hours. Everyone will be able to observe the small animals and birds present in and around the ponds and wetlands and discover the local fauna and flora.

These activities will be provided by the Oise-Aisne Agreement, Picardie Nature, the CPIE of the Oise countries, the Oise Fishing and Hunting Federations. Reservations are required for the 3 guided walks with the Pays Noyonnais Tourist Office on 03 44 44 21 88 and walking shoes and binoculars are recommended.
I really want to thank all the partners involved in this event and I look forward to seeing many of you!
