“We are in the learning phase of mode without Eric. » Frédéric Ruppli has a sense of the formula to evoke the governance of GT Logistics two months after the death of its historic boss, Éric Sarrat, who had been in charge since 1976. The current president of the logistics and transport group based in Bassens has been supporting the family since 2007. It is under his leadership that a strategic committee and a management committee have been set up over the last ten years.

Last February, Éric Sarrat, who had been ill for many years, organized the transfer of the company of 1,400 employees by calling on Jérôme Gasquet, who had already known the company in 2020 and 2021, to take over general management and ensure the continuity. The latter now forms the leading pair of GT Logistics with Frédéric Ruppli. The two men, who know each other well, are responsible for preparing the strategic plan for 2030 and supporting the family of Éric Sarrat, the company’s majority shareholder, in this new stage.

Environmental impact

“I have known the company since 2007. I am here to educate Éric Sarrat’s wife and three daughters about piloting,” emphasizes Frédéric Ruppli. They will be able to choose their roles within the group. » From a strategic point of view, GT Logistics, which today generates 95% of its turnover in industry, is not considering a 180-degree turn. The company will seek to better meet the expectations of its customers, particularly in the fields of aeronautics and defense.

But it has also joined the Business Climate Convention (CEC). “This requires us to define a roadmap that takes into account the environmental impact of the company,” explains Jérôme Gasquet. However, there is currently no question of refusing to work with clients like TotalEnergies. But reflection is underway to define concrete measures to be put in place. GT Logistics’ action plan in this regard should be unveiled in June.
