Strong demand in this school in Orne: the establishment thinks bigger

€710,000. It was the cost of the work that allowed the extension of the boarding school, creating three classrooms and three bedrooms additional to the MFR of Pointel (Orne), which welcomes work-study students in forestry professions.

The work will have lasted a year and a half, and everything is already operational since this return. “The three rooms are already in use,” indicates Nicolas Noal, interim director of this MFR. 80 boarding students are accommodated there in total.

These new bedrooms and classrooms are less energy consuming. These are 244 m2 built. It was “a need”, particularly due to the opening of a new course two years ago: the BTS agricultural forest management.

A €710,000 project

Elected officials gathered on Friday October 11 for the inauguration of this extension. “After the completion of this development, we will think about new digital projectswe hope to be supported,” indicates the president of the MFR de l’Orne, Valérie Turmet.

The Region and the Department supported the extension of the boarding school and the creation of classrooms, respectively to the tune of 277 000 € et 126 000 €.

This year, the MFR welcomes 190 studentsincluding 120 in initial training (up to BTS). The rest being in short training or for adults on the Saint-Hilaire-de-Briouze site.
