In its press release, the Ministry of Finance states that the decompensation of butane gas is part of a context marked by the implementation of the direct social assistance program (having benefited 3.6 million households until the end of last April ), based on the principle of direct and more efficient targeting of families truly in need thanks to the Unified Social Register. This program was supported by a series of social measures (direct support for housing, generalization of medical coverage, increase in salaries in the public and private sectors, etc.).

In addition, the government is committed to continuing the reform of the social protection system, framed by framework law 09-21, article 8 of which stipulates that the financing of the direct social assistance program will be done through grouping and the generalization of the various social programs, in addition to the partial decompensation of the Compensation Fund, adds the press release, recalling that the government has reserved an envelope of 80 billion dirhams by 2026 to finance the various social programs and the various measures resulting from social dialogue, in particular the revaluation of salaries in the public and private sectors.
