70 young people from around the world at the 33rd PGL Dictation at Laval University

It was at Laval University, in Quebec, that young people from across the French-speaking world participated in the 33e PGL dictation on the theme of leadership.

There were 71 young people aged 5e and 6e year of several countries including Senegal, Morocco and the United States to participate in the dictation organized for a rare time on a university campus, confirms the president of the board of directors of the Paul Gérin-Lajoie Foundation, François Gérin-Lajoie .

“Ivory Coast even registered all its students for dictation, we were really surprised by that this year. It’s a tremendous success with 3 million registrations,” he explains.

These young internationals were able to visit the attractions of Quebec City, to their great pleasure. “Walking in the streets is still European wealth,” argues Mr. Gérin-Lajoie.

The theme of leadership and life skills was chosen precisely to promote the educational mission of dictation.

“It’s a theme that is more at the level of pedagogy within our program itself and to make it known to all Canadians,” explains Mr. Gérin-Lajoie.

It was the Quebec Minister of Education, Bernard Drainville, who read the dictation to young people for a second year in a row. Mr. Drainville claims to have been drawn to this activity in particular because of his “love for the French language”.

This edition of the dictation coincides with the 60e anniversary of the creation of the Ministry of Education of Quebec and the creation of the Superior Council of Education.
