An avalanche leaves two dead in Pigne d’Arolla

Two people died on Sunday in an avalanche in Pigne d’Arolla (VS), Valais cantonal police told Keystone-ATS, confirming information from the Italian agency Ansa. A third person was swept away by the flow.

According to Ansa, this person survived and was taken care of by Air Glaciers rescuers. According to the first information collected, the two victims could be Italian, specifies the agency.

The police could not yet provide further information on the circumstances of the tragedy.
