Saint-Louis, May 18 (APS) – The regional branch of the National Electricity Company (SENELEC) in Saint-Louis (north), delivered on Friday a batch of materials including water packs, kettles and prayer mats to the organizing committee of the annual Gamou Serigne Babacar Sy, the 70th edition of which is planned to be celebrated this Saturday.

“This year’s edition has a special character, which is why we decided, beyond our usual actions, to give these gadgets to the organizing committee as a form of participation,” declared Ibrahima Bakhoum, head of department. distribution of the Northern Regional Delegation (DRN).

He also recalled that SENELEC has taken all measures to ensure good coverage of this religious event, by providing the organizing committee with a 400 kVA generator, 100 lanterns, 400 bulbs, 200 strips, 3 groups spotlights.

Speaking on behalf of the Organizing Committee serving Khalifa Ababacar Sy (COSKAS), Khalifa Niang welcomed the gesture of the national electricity company.

Thousands of disciples of the Tidiane brotherhood will celebrate this Saturday in Saint-Louis, the 70th Gamou of Serigne Babacar Sy, commonly called Gamou Ndar, birthplace of this first caliph of El Hadji Malick Sy (1922-1957) of whom he claims in some of his writings.
