The Senegal national team has validated its ticket for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco.

Traveling Tuesday afternoon to Lilongwe, Malawi, for the 4th day of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers, the Senegal Football Lions won 0-1 against the Flames in the final moments of the match.

Star striker Sadio Mané liberated his team by scoring the only goal of the match in the 96th minute, with a masterful free kick, qualifying his team for the next CAN scheduled in Morocco.

Dominant throughout the game, Senegal was faced with a solid Malawi team, well grouped in defense with a very tight low block.

Despite numerous incursions in the first half, the protégés of coach Pape Thiaw, who temporarily took the reins of the team after the end of Aliou Cissé’s contract, had to wait until the end of the match to resolve the situation.

This victory allows the 2022 African champions to join Burkina Faso, already qualified in this group.
