The Paris prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into attempted rape after a complaint filed late Monday, October 14 in the afternoon, by a 19-year-old young woman. She denounces having been attacked in the Bois de Boulogne, CNEWS learned from the public prosecutor’s office this Tuesday.
The Bois de Boulogne once again sinisterly highlighted. An investigation into attempted rape was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the 1st judicial police district after a complaint filed by a young 19-year-old woman, Monday October 14 at the end of the afternoon, CNEWS learned from the public prosecutor.
Still according to the prosecution, this complaint was filed at the Neuilly-sur-Seine police station. In it, the victim denounced “having been attacked in the Bois de Boulogne, and having physically struggled to escape”, specifies the Paris prosecutor’s office to CNEWS.
“The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office, first notified, relinquished responsibility for the Paris public prosecutor’s office, which has territorial jurisdiction,” added the public prosecutor.
Frequented by more than 8 million visitors each year, the Bois de Boulogne has continued to attract attention in recent weeks. First, it is in this wooded area that the lifeless body of Philippine, 19, was found buried on Saturday September 21, 2024.
The young woman was killed by Taha O., a suspect of Moroccan origin and under an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF). He was also arrested in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland, on September 24. An extradition request has been made by the French authorities.
A murder and a sexual assault in two weeks
A few days later, on October 5, 2024, Jeanne Duan, 33, was sexually assaulted near the Jardin d’Acclimatation in the same Bois de Boulogne. Interviewed by CNEWS, the victim recounted a surreal scene that occurred in broad daylight and in full view of everyone.
“There was a man standing looking at me, he was touching his penis and he was talking to me, but with my headphones I couldn’t hear what he was saying. I saw that he looked a little crazy, which you often see in Paris, so I ignored him and moved on,” she said.
Jeanne Duan was quickly stopped in her tracks after feeling “something on (her) buttocks”. If the young woman initially believed that it was a dog coming to meet her, it was was actually the person she had just encountered.
In fact, the latter had followed his victim. “I then turned around, and I saw this man looking straight at me aggressively and that he was planning to do something to me,” she added.
The young woman then started screaming, her attacker fleeing. “He understood that I wanted to take a photo of him, he ran away. I was able to take a few photos of him, but only with his clothes unfortunately not his face,” she concluded.
