A competition organized by students at the service of students: this is the concept of the Think AI Morocco hackathon, hosted by the 1337 coding school, from May 17 to 19 at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University of Benguerir. This second edition, organized by the 1337 club and the Math Maroc association, brings together 25 teams of 2 to 3 students, handpicked from 140 applications from different Moroccan schools and universities.

For three days, these young talents devote themselves to creating solutions based on generative artificial intelligence. The challenge covers eight major themes for Morocco: drought management, preservation of intangible cultural heritage, organization of future sporting events such as CAN 2025 and the 2030 World Cup, e-health, e-education, natural disaster management, and the promotion of the Moroccan dialect.

Participants also benefit from high-level lectures given by Moroccan students from prestigious universities such as Berkeley and La Sorbonne. Abdelhakim Benechehab, doctoral student in artificial intelligence at the University of Sorbonne and supervisor within the Think AI Maroc team, highlights the advantages of this initiative: “Students have the opportunity to develop new skills, to collaborate with like-minded people and professional mentors, and to create innovative solutions that could make a real difference in the world. “.

The Think AI Morocco hackathon does not just bring together brilliant minds around technological challenges. It offers a platform where students can not only demonstrate their know-how but also draw inspiration from experts and their peers to imagine concrete projects with a tangible impact on their country. By encouraging innovation and collaboration, this event contributes to the training of a new generation of technological leaders capable of meeting Morocco’s future challenges.
