Diamniadio, Oct 14 (APS) – The new national development policy presented Monday by the government is based on “a clear, coherent, ambitious and assumed endogenous vision”, argued the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

”This new national development strategy is an innovative response to the challenges of systemic transformation in Senegal. It is based on a clear, coherent, ambitious and assumed endogenous vision,” said Mr. Faye while speaking at the official presentation ceremony of the document entitled ”Senegal 2050: national transformation agenda”.

”Today, we share with the Senegalese people and the international community this strategic document, which lays the foundations of a new era for our country,” underlined the Head of State.

This new national development policy is “unprecedented”, he underlined, specifying that it includes four “priority axes”: a “competitive economy”, quality human capital and social equity. , “sustainable planning and development”, good governance and “African commitment”.

“It is therefore the time for transcendence, consensus, resurgence and self-sacrifice to establish our sovereignty and release the energies, talents and potential of our nation,” continued Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

The development program drawn up by the government and the Performances cabinet ”recognizes a collective desire to break […] with practices from another time,” said Mr. Faye.

With this new tool, Senegal is emerging “completely from the classic patterns of the past, which lead to stagnation”, he continued, assuring the Senegalese of his desire to “consolidate a united, resilient and resolutely anchored nation in modernity, progress and well-being.

The President of the Republic urges the Senegalese to “do our individual and collective introspection to take back our destiny and put our Senegal on a trajectory […] of hope, performance and progress”.

Reform of the country’s institutions is “indispensable”, he stressed, promising to fight corruption.
