If you assiduously followed the weather forecasts to prepare for your weekend in the Marne, the past week must have been somewhat stressful.

Météo France indeed announced storms for the evening of Saturday and the following day. But the forecaster’s latest map updates are a little more optimistic.

Saturday May 18

The sun should be visible throughout the Marne this Saturday morning. It will be accompanied by rather mild temperatures, around 15 degrees. They will climb to 20 degrees in the afternoon, but the sky should be very overcast. On the other hand, Météo France does not predict rain.

The sun should even return in the evening, despite the presence of a veil of cloud over the entire department. Temperatures will remain pleasant, from 15 degrees in Sainte-Menehould to 17 degrees in Reims, Épernay or Châlons-en-Champagne. They should not drop below 10 degrees overnight.

Sunday May 19

The sky will be quite overcast on Sunday morning, although clearings are expected in particular in Reims, Épernay and Châlons. Temperatures are expected to be 12 to 13 degrees

In the afternoon, scattered rain should fall on the western half of the department as well as in Argonne, while the sun should remain visible around Châlons and Vitry-le-François. Temperatures will remain stable compared to the day before, between 19 and 20 degrees.

The feared thunderstorms are expected to break out in the evening, particularly in the Châlons and Suippes sector as well as in the south-east of the department. Stormy showers are also to be feared in Épernay and in the Vesle valley. On the other hand, the weather should be fine in Vitryat, as well as around Sainte-Menehould.

Monday May 20

The morning of Pentecost Monday looks set to be rather sunny, with temperatures varying between 12 degrees in Fismes and 14 degrees in Vitry-le-François.

The risk of thunderstorms should unfortunately return in the afternoon, first in the west of the department, before spreading throughout the evening. They could continue into the night from Monday to Tuesday.

Temperatures will remain rather high, between approximately 18 and 21 degrees.
