Reason for the position

The CH Group (Montreal Canadiens, Laval Rocket, evenko, L’Équipe Spectra, etc.) is looking for a Analyst, Finance, Entertainment to contribute to the success of numerous initiatives.

Reporting to Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for public financing for the different entities and support for the financial planning and analysis team. As’Analyst, Finance, Entertainmentyour responsibilities will be linked to obtaining and managing public funding, creating budgets for event, festival and agency operations and analyzing the financial impact of supported projects.

You will be recognized for

  • Produce budgets, detailed financial reports and responsible for the financial aspect of certain business units to obtain public funding;
  • Become the financial business partner of the Public Partnerships and Cultural Industries team by supporting them with financial analyzes and information for profitable decision-making;
  • Ensure management of the financial aspect of agreements with public partners (filing, updating, reporting) and compliance with contractual requirements and regulations in force with other departments of the company;
  • Work closely with government bodies, funding agencies and other stakeholders to coordinate public financing initiatives;
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with decisions or projects, and recommend mitigation measures;
  • Analyze budget variances with the support of departments (marketing, production, programming) and review and interpret relevant data to draw conclusions and recommendations;
  • Support the financial planning & analysis team by performing various strategic analyses, dashboards and identifying costs, revenues and margins associated with the projects analyzed;
  • Present analysis results clearly and concisely to stakeholders, management or other team members;
  • Participate in project management, ensuring that objectives are achieved within the set deadlines;
  • Provide administrative support for certain departmental tasks (search for supporting documents, formatting of budgets, payment follow-ups, etc.);
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and controls;
  • Collaborate with the various internal departments on topics related to accounting and finance.

We want to meet you if you have the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in administration, accounting or finance;
  • A professional CPA designation or similar business/financial designation, an asset;
  • Relevant experience of 2-3 years;
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly Excel;
  • An understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, financial analysis, cash management and financial reporting;
  • Excellent skills in analyzing and interpreting financial data, assessing risks and being able to formulate strategic recommendations;
  • An eye for detail, rigor, being autonomous and managing priorities effectively while being able to work under pressure;
  • A proactive attitude towards collecting information and improving business processes;
  • The ability to adapt to a constantly and rapidly changing environment;
  • A team player and able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, solve problems creatively and inspire trust and cooperation;
  • Experience in the sports and/or entertainment sector, an asset;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English
