Maison Michel-Sarrazin, a specialized palliative and end-of-life care center, is looking for volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of people with cancer.

Maison Michel-Sarrazin, established in Quebec for more than 39 years, is a true leader in the field of palliative care and end-of-life care.

It accompanies and relieves people in palliative care and end-of-life care, in addition to supporting their loved ones and investing in training and research.

The structure of Maison Michel-Sarrazin has a few specific components:

· The Michel-Sarrazin Foundation which establishes the bases of stable financing for the House and its various services;

· Maison Michel-Sarrazin which welcomes sick people suffering from cancer at the end of their lives;

· The Bonenfant-Dionne Day Center which receives and supports people in the palliative phase of cancer;

· The Respite Service which offers rest to caregivers who accompany a person with cancer at home;

· The Bereavement Follow-up Service which offers support to bereaved people.

Volunteer Michel-Sarrazin is responsible for recruiting and training the volunteers that Maison Michel-Sarrazin needs.

Volunteering plays a central role in the structure and proper functioning of Maison Michel-Sarrazin. More than 300 generous people come to volunteer their contribution to carrying out its mission.

Thanks to their commitment, in complementarity with the large team of employees and professionals, they can offer sick people and those around them high quality care and services.

Volunteers perform a wide range of tasks ranging from caregiving support, bereavement support, food service, building maintenance, horticulture, administration, Foundation , at the Bonenfant-Dionne Day Center, etc.

They embody the fundamental values ​​of dignity, respect, compassion, truth, solidarity and generosity which are the guides of the House.

Volunteers can help ease the difficult times experienced by the people they support.

Without their precious help, it would be impossible for the House to fulfill its mission, because between them they accumulate more than 49,000 hours of volunteering per year in all sectors.

The volunteering you choose to offer can be adapted according to your talents and preferences. For example, you could become a healthcare volunteer, welcoming visitors, a member of the Families and Users Committee, the Home Respite Service, a musician volunteer, a hairdresser volunteer, etc.
