Dakar, May 16 (APS) – The Museum of Black Civilizations will host an exhibition from Tuesday highlighting audio recordings made between 1910 and 1920 in Germany by Africans, APS learned from the organizers on Thursday.

The theme of the exhibition is “Echo of the past: discovering intangible cultural heritage”.

These are, we write, in the press kit received from the Museum of Black Civilizations, historical sound and visual archives attributed to Senegalese sources.

”This exhibition is a captivating artistic and historical journey highlighting intangible heritage in the context of the return of cultural goods to Africa,” specifies the text.

This exhibition to be seen until June 21 is curated by Doctor Massamba Guèye, founder of ”Keur Leyti”, house of orality and heritage.

The organizers are planning two round tables on May 21 at the Museum of Black Civilizations from 9 a.m., one of which will focus on museum directors and the other on cultural heritage experts.

The exhibition is co-organized with the Ethnological Museum of Berlin, the Museum of Asian Art and the State Museums of Berlin, the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation and the Goethe Institute Senegal.

May 21 coincides with the day of cultural diversity established by UNESCO.
