The Moroccan football team scored a clear victory (5-0) against the Central African Republic during the third day of qualifying for the “Morocco 2025” African Cup of Nations. Despite this success which places the Atlas Lions at the top of group B with 9 points, Walid Regragui, the coach, was keen to highlight a few weak points.

If the Moroccan coach said he was satisfied with the overall performance, he did not fail to criticize the technical errors made by his players in the second half. “I saw a lot of positive things today, but in the second half there were a lot of technical errors,” he said after the match. According to him, the comfortable lead acquired at half-time (4-0) undoubtedly disrupted the concentration of some, their minds already turned towards their clubs.

Regragui also took the opportunity to salute the performance of Youssef Belammari and Jamal Harkass, thrown into the mix during this meeting. “It was the right time to give the opportunity to Harkass and Belammari, and they were serious and showed good integration with the group. I am happy with them, because they have shown their ability to add something,” said the coach.

With this victory, Morocco consolidates its first place in the standings of Group B, ahead of Gabon (4 points), the Central African Republic (3 points) and Lesotho (1 point). The return match is scheduled for next Tuesday at the same stadium in Oujda, where many supporters came to support their team.
