In Beinwil, “burglars” treat themselves to a game of table football

Nathalie Leu, owner of the Rütli music bar, had a very unpleasant surprise when she returned from vacation. While she had closed her establishment, located in Beinwil am See (AG), on the occasion of the Ascension weekend, to treat herself to a getaway with her partner, she discovered on Monday by consulting the videos of surveillance that three people, two men and a woman, had illegally entered his bar.

Although her blood boiled at the time, she quickly realized that these people whom she had taken for burglars had not actually taken anything. In fact, they just had a game of table football. “On the recordings you hear them saying they can’t find the switch, but they can still play. Besides, for me, it was proof that they were not regulars. Otherwise, they would have found the switch,” the owner explained to “TeleM1”.

Nathalie Leu initially filed a complaint against an unknown person. But she also posted the video surveillance images on Facebook. And a few hours later one of the night players contacted her. He then explained to her that they had gone to dinner in a nearby restaurant and, excessively happy, he and his sister had suddenly had an irreprehensible desire to play table football. The stranger then added that he would come by soon to apologize and take responsibility for his actions. To which the manager replied: “OK, but first, let’s have a drink together.”

After this exchange, the owner withdrew her complaint. Contacted by “20 Minuten”, she explained: “Why should I blame someone who did something stupidly? I’ve worked in the hotel and restaurant industry long enough to know when someone has had just a little too much to drink. And there was no damage, that’s the main thing.”
