AVIVO Neuchâtel is organizing a day dedicated to seniors

A day dedicated to seniors will take place in Neuchâtel on May 30. It will be held at the Pierre-à-Bot farm and is organized by AVIVO Neuchâtel, the association for the defense of retirees. Open to everyone, this day will offer various conferences on several themes affecting the daily lives of seniors such as additional services, EMS or even scams. “The objective is to give greater visibility to our association. With 1,800 members, we have a number in the canton but we suffer from a lack of recognition,” explains Claude-Alain Kleiner, president of AVIVO Neuchâtel.

Finances as a common thread

The themes of the day are very varied, but revolve around a common thread: the finances of seniors. “This decline in purchasing power primarily affects the elderly. This is why we sought to compose a menu around this question,” explains Claude-Alain Kleiner. The president of AVIVO does not hesitate to describe the purchasing power of seniors as the “main challenge” over the coming years.

Attendance larger than expected

This is the first time in Neuchâtel that an event of this style has taken place. So obviously we can wonder how many people the organizers hope to bring together at the Pierre-à-Bot farm on May 30. “We initially said to ourselves that if we had 20 people per section, so 80 in total, we were on the good side. Today, we passed the 120 mark, including around twenty non-members of AVIVO,” rejoices Claude-Alain Kleiner. /dpi
