Tarascon-sur-Ariège. Pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Fatima

On May 13, 1917, the first apparition of the Virgin took place in Fatima, a village located in central Portugal. One hundred and seven years later, Marian devotion has lost none of its fervor, and Our Lady of Fatima is celebrated throughout the world. For the Ariège Portuguese community and all the faithful, this is an important moment.

Thus, this Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19, the pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Fatima will be celebrated in the Notre-Dame de Sabart chapel, with two traditional sections.

Saturday evening, at 9 p.m., the rosary and procession will take place in Sabart.

Then, on Sunday, at 3:30 p.m., a solemn mass in honor of Our Lady of Fatima will be celebrated by Father Jean. The service will be hosted by the choir and musicians of the Portuguese group from Tarascon-sur-Ariège. At 4:30 p.m. the procession and blessing will take place.

Folklore shows

Saturday, at 10 p.m., the MJC will host a major folkloric show hosted by the musical group Victor and Domi.

Sunday, at 2:30 p.m., the folk group from Tarbes and that of the Portuguese from Tarascon will perform in front of the Notre-Dame de Sabart chapel. At 5:30 p.m., at the end of the religious celebrations, the festival will continue with a display of colorful and joyful folk dances and songs.

The entire population, believers or non-believers, is invited to join this event, which is intended to be religious and festive.
