“The Minister of the Interior issued an article 40 to the Paris prosecutor against the leaked videos of the Incarville toll,” said the entourage.

Article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure requires any authority having knowledge of a crime or offense to report it to the courts.

The images were leaked on social networks

The report is based, again according to the minister’s entourage, on article 226-21 of the penal code which punishes “the fact, by any person holding personal data (…) of diverting this information from its purpose”, an offense punishable by five years in prison and a fine of 300,000 euros.

Asked by AFP, the Paris prosecutor’s office did not immediately respond on Wednesday evening.
