The Tarnac affair began on November 11, 2008 when at daybreak, in Tarnac, a peaceful little village in Corrèze located on the Millevaches plateau, 150 anti-terrorism police officers arrived. Ten people are arrested as part of an investigation into the sabotage of SNCF lines that a small ultra-left group is said to have damaged.

If the Tarnac affair has had such an impact on people’s minds, it is because it was covered in the media above all, and even before the courts had time to take it into account. Through this process, it has become a product of our time among others – a product of communication of a state policy, a product of journalists in search of sensation. A strong symbol of the commercial society in which we live.

In a simple and refined scenography, recreating the atmosphere of a courtroom, this show is an opportunity, by retracing the history of a judicial error, to do the “autopsy” of a crash. The five actors from the company Hors Jeu cover the different stages of the trial of one of the biggest scandals and legal fiascos of the last twenty years. They take on a dozen roles with simple changes of voice and accessories in breathtaking choreography.

With acerbic humor, they attempt to highlight the grotesque situation in which the accused but also the judicial system found themselves in this case with national and regional media repercussions.

Thursday May 16 at 8:30 p.m., Le Nantholia room. Theater: duration 1 hour 40 minutes. From 12 years old.
