Saint-Louis, May 15 (APS) – The organizing committee for the 24th edition of the Saint-Louis international judo tournament scheduled for Saturday and Sunday is struggling to meet its budget, we learned Wednesday from its president Ngor Faye.

“Out of a forecast budget of 37 million 350 thousand francs, we have mobilized only 1%,” said Mr. Faye during a press conference.

“The organizing committee is still waiting for funds from partners who may come to support this tournament,” he underlined, hoping “all the same that partners will support this international tournament which is part of the cultural and sporting agenda of the city of Saint-Louis”.

Participants from Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Guinea are expected at the 24th edition of the international judo tournament scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Didier Marie gymnasium complex, according to the organizing committee.

“The delegations from Gabon and Congo are already in Senegal,” reported Mr. Faye, also president of the Northern League of the Senegalese Federation of Judo and Associated Disciplines (FSJDA).

The Saint-Louis international judo tournament was created by the late Ababacar Fall Mbaye Boye and brings together, each year, the elite of this martial art from Senegal and the countries of the sub-region.
