Several shots were fired in the air, Saturday October 12, mid-morning, at a market in Grenoble, announced the prosecution, confirming information from the Dauphiné released. There were no injuries. The shots rang out around 10 a.m. on the Saint-Bruno market, near a PMU bar, where several customers were seated and while the market was crowded, according to the regional daily.
“The shooting in the air this morning on the Saint-Bruno market is probably linked to the anti-drug trafficker operation carried out in recent days”declared the public prosecutor of Grenoble, Eric Vaillant, in a message to the press. Seven people were arrested during this operation, four of whom were placed in detention, the others under judicial supervision.
The police also seized drugs and around a hundred ammunition of different calibers. “This type of operation and the incarcerations that follow destabilize organizations at deal points and arouse the desires of competitors”added the prosecutor. Since the start of the year, the Alpine metropolis has been experiencing renewed tensions. Around twenty episodes of gun violence have been recorded in the territory and the authorities no longer hesitate to talk about “gang war”.
