deprived of its subsidies, this solidarity group calls for mobilization

Cocagne Haute-Garonne is sounding the alarm. “This group, which has been working for more than 15 years to integrate people in difficulty through organic market gardening, was deprived of European subsidiesessential to its balance”, announces a press release. The structure – bringing together different organizations – offers work, support and training. All focused on ecological transition and eating well, in a green environment.

140 jobs threatened

The end of subsidies could, however, result in job loss for 140 people from July 2024, including 100 people in precarious situations, according to the solidarity group. “Faced with the absence of concrete responses after four months of solicitation from our traditional public partners, Cocagne Haute-Garonne is calling for mobilization,” the press release continues. The departmental entity offers different ways to support it.

Meetings in Saint-Gaudens, Muret and Toulouse

In particular, it invites gather in several communities, Thursday May 16, 2024. The volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. in Saint-Gaudens, in front of the sub-prefecture and in front of the department hotel. The demonstration continues at 11:30 a.m. in Muret in front of the sub-prefecture, and at 3 p.m. in Toulouse in front of the Halles de la Transition. The solidarity group also suggests signing its petition, writing to the regional prefect and relaying the information on social networks.
